Orangeville Outlaws Football Association

Parent / Spectator Code of Conduct

Parents/Guests/Spectators have a great influence on children's enjoyment and success in football. All children play football because they first and foremost love the game and for the fun of it. It is important to remember that however good a child becomes at football within our club, it is important to reinforce the message to parents/guests/spectators that positive encouragement will contribute to:
* Children playing football
* A sense of personal achievement
* Self-esteem
* Improving the child's skills and techniques

All Parents/guests/spectators expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child's attitude towards:
* Other players
* Officials
* Managers
* Other parents/guests/spectators

We need to ensure that parents/guests/spectators within our club are always positive and encouraging towards all of the children not just their own.

All parents/guests/spectators must abide by the Code of Conduct. Any violations of this code can result in termination of association participation.

1.  I will not criticize the Association, board members, coaches, players or cheerleaders in public but will reserve constructive criticism for later, in private, with only those involved.
2.  I will demonstrate and encourage good sportsmanship and the concept of fair play.
3.  I will promote and support the Outlaw's Player Code of Conduct Policy, including but not limited to its emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play.
4. I will accept decisions of the game officials on the field as being fair and called to the best of their abilities.
5. I will not criticize an opposing team, it's players, spirit participants, coaches or fans by word of mouth or gesture.
6. If I have a concern, I will talk to the coach at the appropriate time and place (eg. Never before, during or immediately after a game).
7. I will insist my player treat other players, coaches, officials and fans with respect.
8.  I will be a "Team" fan not a "my child" fan.
9.  I will emphasize with my child that good athletes strive to be good students that are physically and mentally alert.
10.  I will strive to make every football/cheerleading activity serve as a training ground for life, and a basis for good mental and physical health by being there to support my child.
11.  I will emphasize that winning is the result of good "TEAMWORK" and help my child learn that success is measured by the development of skills, not winning or losing.
12.  I will refrain from talking to or trying to coach my child during games or practices.
13.  I understand that any fan that becomes a nuisance and out of control shall be asked to leave.
14.  I will refrain from using abusive and profane language at all times.
15. I will not taunt players, coaches, officials or other spectators by means of baiting, ridiculing or threat of physical violence.
16. I will not engage in any other physical aggression toward a player, coach, official or spectator.
17. I will not deliberately incite unsportsmanlike conduct.
18. I will abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages at games, practices, banquets and picnics. Expected outcome will be immediate removal from the event, either willing by me or appropriate authorities if I am non-compliant.
19. I will support all fundraisers and other Association activities.
20. I will be responsible for completing and returning all paperwork during the season on time. Should anyone fail to turn in the appropriate paperwork, in particular copies of the important documentation required at Registration, I understand that it will result in my child/children "not" entering the playing or practice fields until such documents are provided.
21. I will be responsible for making arrangements to drop off and pick up my child on time from all Association activities. Each player is also responsible for his/her attendance at both games and practices and must realize that failure to attend either on a regular basis, may result in lack of playing time on the field.
22. I will be responsible for all my child's equipment and uniforms. I will replace anything that is lost, stolen, damaged due to misuse or not turned in at the end of the season.
23. I WILL UPHOLD ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS and the essential elements of the Outlaw's Zero Tolerance Policy in an effort to make field time a more desirable and rewarding experience for all participants.
